pictures from Yankee Stadium...

Sterling and I had a fantastic time at this game.  The New York Yankees beat the Cincinatti Reds 4-1 on 6/22/2008.  We were guests of generous Cazenovia Limousine and Tour Service.   We wanted to make sure we got to see a game in Yankee Stadium before it is torn down later this year.  Ken Griffey, Jr. hit his 601st home run.  Andy Pettitte pitched a great game and we got to see Mariano "Enter the Sandman" Rivera record a save.  Add to that some hot dogs, beer, souvenirs, and a beautiful rain delay (only about an hour) and we couldn't have asked for more.

These are our pre-game faces.  We walked completely around the stadium and took pictures from lots of spots and levels of the Reds batting practice.  I'm sure we stuck out a little bit, but that's all part of the fun!

This was we we first walked in off the street.  The Reds were taking batting practice and, lo and behold, it was Ken Griffey, Jr.'s turn!  We stayed here for a bit and saw people in front of us catch a few BP HR's!

We went up a level after "Junior" was done hitting.  We took these pictures as batting practice continued.  Had to get some shots from behind home plate.

This is the view from our seats.  The Reds are finishing up batting practice.  People are still filing in.  We got to the park about 15 minutes before they closed Monument Park, so the view from above right is the best we got of it.

There was a rain delay that lasted about an hour.  We were just under the roof that supports the lights so we didn't need to run for cover during the brief, but wet storm.  It was fun watching the grounds crew do their job.  It was so hot and humid that the rain felt pretty good.  The picture below shows the outfield warning track all sunny and soaked.
